Advancement Weekend is BACK for the first time since the pandemic!!! Activities will be held on Saturday, February 7 and Sunday, February 8 at OGUMC. This is a great way for Scouts to select one or two new Merit Badges they wish to work on as the new year kicks off. We will also be running our excellent Orienteering course for any Scouts that need that requirement. For Scouts working on rank advancement (Scout - First Class), our ASM Help Desk will be open (in the morning only) to check off requirements. Be sure to come prepared with your handbook and a list of requirements you would like to complete. The weekend will conclude with Scout Sunday February 9 at OGUMC.
Pizza will be served for dinner and weather permitting there will be a fire in the fire pit. If the weather doesn't cooperate we will retreat to the gym for a movie and indoor camping.
What to Bring
Scout Handbook and pencil/pen
Lunch, snacks, full water bottle
Weather appropriate camping gear if you spend the night. See our Gear List for details.
Any documentation your Merit Badge counselor may have asked for prior to the class
Rain gear in a day bag (just in case)
What to Know
Registration for Merit Badge classes closes on Tuesday, February 3. Classes will be limited to 12 Scouts per class with some exceptions.
Registration is not required for our ASM Help Desk - Scouts may drop by any time during the morning hours published below.
Merit Badge counselors will reach out prior to Advancement Weekend with any pre-assignments. Ensure you prioritize these and complete what is requested to make the most of your (and their) time during the day.
