The January campout is an outing to Camp Lumpkin on the shores of West Point Lake. This is a 1-night camping trip. Scouts and adults can participate in shotgun, rifle, and archery led by BSA instructors at the camp's ranges. We also have a throwing sports station to throw knives and Tomahawks. And there is a huge field for games. Lots to do!! And star viewing at night.
By the time registration closes, we will have final confirmation on the shooting sports that will be offered. Credit will be issued if any of the activities will not be available.
Scouts can work on the Shooting Sports Merit Badge during this campout. Click on each of these links to access the merit badge books for Rifle, Shotgun, and Archery. Reading through and understanding the sports you will be participating in will give you an edge during the weekend and you will learn much more!
For REgistration
Select the "Register Here" link below to access the registration page in Trooptrack. Check out this link for Trooptrack instructions and FAQs. If you cannot find the email sent in August with instructions for completing your Trooptrack account, email technology@oakgrovescouting.org.
At the link above, it will take you to a document which gives you instructions on registering in TroopTrack and providing key info (you just need to do this once, unless it changes!). We need this info and it needs to be in the correct spot so we can easily pull all participant info together for the campout. Within the profile of each Scout and Adult attending, please provide . . .
“Basic Info” → Select “Edit” and complete Date of Birth (not needed for Adults)
“Contact Info” → Select “Edit” and complete “Email” and “Cell Phone” for primary contact. Complete “Secondary Email” and “Home Phone” for “Emergency Contact”. Note: Ensure that the Secondary Email and Phone is not an adult who will be going on campouts.
“Notes” → Select “Edit” and provide the following three pieces of info
Any allergies the Scout or Adult has
Any important Food Preferences the Scout or Adult has (e.g. vegetarian, gluten-free, etc).
A yes or no if the Scout will take medications during a campout (even over-the-counter meds) (not needed for Adults)
If the answer to any of the above are None, please include that so we know you reviewed. We need this info for campouts. Update it as needed.
Example (you can copy these three lines and paste, and then edit)
Allergy: Pollen, eggs
Food preferences: None
Medications: Yes
Attending adults! Within the registration, you will need to RSVP for "Going" which confirms you are participating on the campout, but not for shooting. If you want to add shooting for $35, please look for "Event Items Available to Purchase". Select, it will be added to your cart, and you can then check out.
To complete payment for the campout, you have a couple of options. Pay via PayPal when you RSVP or pay with escrow.
If you want to use escrow, email akrafty@me.com and treasurer.st77@oakgrovescouting.org to verify the escrow funds and load them in your Scout's profile. You can then complete registration for the campout.
