Philmont

High Adventure

Philmont 2025 Invite

Philmont Scout Ranch is BSA’s largest National High Adventure Base. Philmont covers 140,177 acres of beautiful mountain wilderness in the Sangre de Cristo range of the Rocky Mountains in northeastern New Mexico.

Philmont provides unforgettable backpacking adventures across miles of rugged, rocky trails! It offers programs that feature the best of the Old West — horseback riding, burro packing, gold panning, chuckwagon dinners, and interpretive history — with exciting challenges for today including rock climbing, mountain biking, and sport shooting.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure opportunity for your Scouts!

There are maximum height/weight ratios for Adults over 21 which you can review on the Philmont Health Medical web page.

If you want to find out more about the Philmont experience in general I recommend reviewing the latest Philmont Guidebook to Adventure.
